This was an 8-week footwear project working with Timberland.
My project statement was to create a planet-positive performance boots inspired from the Timberland's iconic 6 inches Yellow Boot. EMBODIMENT was designed for the modern creators who love the outdoor environment, have exuding confidence & creativity, and care about their community.

The name of the project is called EMBODIMENT and the theme is called MOLD.

It is inspired from Ester’s passion, ceramic. The clay is flexible but after fire in high temperatures it transforms and becomes rigid and durable. We collect the clay from mother nature and at the end of use it returns to nature again. It is an approach to circular design for this footwear project.

PROBLEMS

HARD TO ACCESS
The clay might be stuck in the outsole pattern that caused it to be slippery.
Ester needs to walk around the workshop in her studio that can lead to foot fatigue.
The locking system of boots is usually lacing so it is hard to adjust for Ester especially when her hands are full and muddy.

By using the outsole pattern of mud running footwear, to reduce the chance sticky mud clog the shoes.
Increase the ankle mobility to bring comfort for Ester no matter in the studio or completing errands.
Create a hand free easy access locking system to replace the lacing system.
